Caballo Loco

We had troubles to convert the material from our epic pow days of the first days back in France.
So we decided to make this edit first:

We got an invite to this competition from our new found friend Fredrik Schullström that is hanging out in Serre Chevalier.
We knew that it was going to be something with horses and a BBQ but we could never expect that it would be this crazy!

In a valley half an hour from civilisation, there was this horse ranch.
They had put up with a groundbreaking snowboard event were we were towed in by horses in a course with rails and jumps. Like wakeboarding!
All in a legit gipsy atmosphere with dogs running around averywhere, horse shit, hobo´s making up fire, a live mariachi band, flamenco girls and Zorro in real live person.

This was for sure the most extraordinary event we have been on and we are proud to say that Erik shreded home the first price of Caballo Loco 2011!

Sammy gets hurt

After St Moritz we followed the snowforecast with a reported dump back to Serre Chevalier in France. We managed to get a couple of days with freshies but then it got warm again and the snow became heavy. As one of the goals for this trip was to get some pictures taken we had been looking for potential spots to shoot. Close to Sestriere in Italy (where we had some good pow before) we had seen some old ruins that we thought would match up to our request.

This day it was blazing hot and as we cruised down in the forest on our way to the ruins we found this tube shaped barn. It smelled of Cows so I guess it´s their hangout in the summertime.
As it looked cool we decided to hit it for some pictures. A few tries with nosegrab tailtap i went for a miller flip over it. As the landing was just deep super heavy snow this was not a good idea. I got stuck with the board in the snow and my body was still rotating. Click, and i sprained my ankle. Which was worse than i thought at first as i ended up with a snapped of ligament and damage on the cartilage. Damn!

So it was chilling time and rehab for me after this with hopes of riding again as soon as possible. It sucks but it´s nothing to be frustrated over as it comes with the territory to get injured.
